my dear, Shkreli is an asshole. an arrogant asshole. and a likely toxic fraud - he is on trial for serious stuff and hopefully will be proven guilty and incarcerated. what does this have to do with "left" or "right"??

Shkreli can be everything in the world. He is irrelevant but the story told convinces people that the only way to rectify injustice is the state to interfere and control.

oh, you mean because he was summoned? but this is not court of law. the politicians were simply collecting information for their purposes.

I mean the story as it is told in the publication. The point is very obvious. Greedy capitalists make a lot of money on people's suffering. Pharmaceutical industry and health care in general are way too important to let capitalist sharks abuse them. The only way to justice is state control. Could not be simpler.

oh, i see. no, state control over prices won't happen.
BUT - the lawmakers may change patent rules for drugs, and allow for competition by other companies earlier on.

I hope the solution will be as you suggest. But I know a little of history and it tells me that people tend to make simple solutions with far reaching consequences. In any event I mentioned socialist Sanders and price control ideas lie in the territory of his mindset. Let us see.
